Candace Thompson
Candace Thompson is a performer and interdisciplinary media maker fascinated with the feedback loops generated by place, culture, identity, climate, economics, and daily human interaction. She makes video, audio, web projects, and installations, and as a freelance video producer and editor she has made music videos, documentaries, and experimental narratives. She is currently receiving her MFA in Integrated Media Art from Hunter College, is a More Art Engaging Artists Fellow, and is working on a project centered around urban foraging, remediation, and humanity's ever-evolving relationship with the urban wilds.

In 2019 Candace's MFA thesis project "The Collaborative Urban Resilience Banquet" and I have been awarded the 2019-2020 Engaging Artists Grant from More Art, been a resident in the Dirt and Debt Program at Residency Unlimited, a fellow at More Art, an Associate Artist at Culture Push, a resident at Oak Spring Garden Foundation, and this fall I be doing a 6 week residency at Swale House with Project: Soils. This project involves a series of community 'banquets' that are foraged largely from the Brooklyn streets, and the final one will take place October 26th at Swale House.
