Jennifer Cappello-Ruggiero holds an AAS Degree in Horticulture Design and a BT Degree in Horticulture Technology. She did much of her early training as an intern at The Farmingdale State College Teaching Gardens where she assisted in the design and installation of the Sustainable Garden along with two bioswales. Jennifer gained horticultural and design experience working on private residences on Long Island and as an assistant to a landscape designer. She later moved into a more public sector and became the Program Leader at East Meadow Farm; an educational and outreach facility of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County. Her work there included coordinating and training Master Gardener Volunteers in addition to providing oversight for the implementation and maintenance of public demonstration and community gardens. Jennifer also managed East Meadow Farm staff in the urban forestry, plant diagnostics and farm stand operations departments. |
