Low-maintenance dahlias thrive in our coastal climate. When they bloom in mid-July, their spiky, colorful blossoms brighten up gardens and flower beds across the city. In this class, you'll explore the origin and history of dahlia flower forms and learn how to divide, plant, fertilize and stake spring tubers as well as how to maintain plants over the growing season and winter. Then, practice how to properly cut these flowers and create a flower arrangement.
