Ikenobo Professor Manabu Noda—a high-level instructor visiting from Kyoto, Japan—will design an awe-inspiring display of arrangements using flowers and branches to demonstrate how the language of Ikenobo Ikebana has evolved from its classical origins to the dynamic expressions of the modern era.

This program is a collaboration with the Ikebana International New York Chapter (I.I.NY).

Speaker:	Manabu Noda Manabu Noda Manabu Noda Professor Noda was born Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.He began his study of Ikenobo ikebana in 1978. In 1984, he received a master's degree in Asian Studies from the University of Illinois in America. In 2010, he was appointed as Professor of the Ikenobo Central Training Institute, Kyoto. Prof. Noda has actively engaged in a wide range of ikebana activities such as the workshops of Ikenobo Chapters, events of Ikebana International, and teaching ikebana in universities. He has given demonstrations, workshops, and has participated in the exhibitions throughout the Asia, Middle East, Europe, North America, South America and Australia. In 1996 and 1999, he was Ikenobo Headquarters Special Visiting Professor to the United States and Canada. His most recent visit was to Dallas, America for Ikebana International 18th North & Central American Regional Conference held on October 27 through November 1, 2019.
