What is the line between art and decoration? Think beyond the confines of "pretty" and consider flowers in terms of line, gesture, texture, and form. We will examine the colors and patterns of masterworks from NYBG's latest exhibition, then create sculptural interpretations in dialogue with that work. Then, unleash your creativity and design a creation inspired by an artwork of your choice. $170 materials fee.

Drawing from the natural world, Joshua Werber's work is an exploration of emotion through the act of creation. Josh's lush aesthetic and sculptural approach to flowers playfully ornament and engage with the interior orexterior landscape. Designing provides him with the opportunity to intuitively trust, feel, and to allow the material to guide its own creation. His work is driven by a desire to create unique environments through whichthe participant can experience transformation. He currently lives in Brooklyn with his rescue puppy Delilah.
