Instructor:	Katherine Brechner Katherine Brechner Katherine Brechner Kathy Brechner, MBA, HTR, is a Registered Horticultural Therapist through the American Horticultural Therapy Association and received her original HT Certificate from the New York Botanical Garden. Her BA in Geology and a Certificate in Permaculture Design bring another aspect of nature education to her Horticultural Therapy and gardening work. As owner of Lasting Nature, her horticultural therapy company provides programming in the behavioral health, senior and youth populations in a variety of settings. She has served in various capacities on the board of the Mid Atlantic Horticultural Therapy Network (MAHTN) and was the recipient of the Linda Ciccantelli Memorial Scholarship and the2010 Outstanding Professional Service Award from MATHN. Having moved to Santa Fe four years ago, she completed her Master Gardener Certificate in Santa Fe, has served on the board of the Santa Fe Master Gardener Association and now the Friends of Santa Fe Master Gardeners foundation board. She volunteers with the Santa Fe Botanical Garden and has extended the principles of Horticulture Therapy in a workshop at the SF Botanical Garden entitled, "Gardening into the Golden Years." Her work with kids includes STEM teaching through the Santa Fe Alliance for Science in the public school system in Santa Fe.
