Drawing Flowers by Family: Master Class with Wendy Hollender

Unlock the key to drawing realistic and descriptive flowers by identifying the specific geometry and patterns that plants in the same family share. Guided by botanical artist and author of The Album of Plant Families, Wendy Hollender, you'll start with simple geometry and quick sketches to warm up. As you build on your skills, create more detailed drawings of flowers using a mix of colored pencil, watercolor pencils, and/or regular watercolor and pen.

This class includes a walk in the Garden for inspiration. You'll be able to able to closely examine flowers and their relationship with other plants within the same family.

Prerequisite: Botanical Drawing II
