In this three-part workshop inspired by a fantastical tea party in Wonderland, you'll infuse tinctures, cocktails, and iced tea blends that will keep you hydrated this summer season.

Herbal Tinctures

Taking a few drops of a tincture can be a catalyst for a lifelong pursuit of herbalism. In this workshop, uncover the formulations, benefits, and methods for making contracted herbal extracts used for health and well-being. Receive guidance as you create one potent tincture to take home. All materials provided.


Herbal Cocktail Mixes

Discover the boundless possibilities of working with seasonal ingredients such as garden mint and other botanicals to craft herbal cocktails for any occasion. Learn the fundamentals of building a botanical bar; including crafting bitters, syrups, shrubs, sugars, and salts, and how to refine flavor layering to provide a mindful approach to cocktail creation. This workshop is perfect for both novices and enthusiasts alike!

Herbal Iced Teas
Suhaly Bautista-Carolina of Moon Mother Apothecary | 2:30-4 pm | NYBG
Learn to blend and brew a variety of herbs and create flavorful and refreshing iced teas. From cooling mint to zesty citrus and soothing chamomile, you'll discover the diverse flavors and properties of various nutritious and delicious herbs and flowers. In this workshop, you'll create your own unique blends to take home and enjoy the refreshing delights of herbal iced tea all summer long!

Instructor:	Arvolyn Hill Arvolyn Hill Arvolyn Hill Arvolyn Hill is an Herbalist and Flower Essence Practitioner whose practice addresses both individual ailments and the lingering effects of ancestral trauma. She lives a full life as Manager of NYBG's Everett Children's Adventure Garden. Arvolyn has an online shop where she sells pressed flower art, tinctures and dreamcatchers. Arvolyn's passions include wellness, urban gardening and botany education. Corrina Wainwright Corrina Wainwright Corrina Wainwright Corrina Wainwright, MPH, a public health practitioner and community herbalist, comes to this work through her Southern, Caribbean, and Gullah Geechee heritage. Trained in Green Medicine and Ecological Herbalism by Peeka Trenkle, she is also a graduate of the Art and Practice of Spiritual Herbalism apprenticeship with Karen M. Rose. Corrina's herbalism practice creates a space for the process and pace of growing and healing with plants. Through her business, Harlem Roots, she centers her family's ancestral practices of fostering community care and joy with accessible plant medicine. When not facilitating or writing, Corrina can be found vending at the Good Food farmer's market in Harlem, immersed in plant studies, or enjoying YA Afrofuturism in her home in Connecticut. Suhaly Bautista-Carolina Suhaly Bautista-Carolina Suhaly Bautista-Carolina Suhaly Bautista-Carolina is an AfroQuisqueyan herbalist, artist, educator, and community organizer. She is a graduate of the Sacred Vibes Apothecary spiritual herbalism apprenticeship, and continues in the legacy, art, and tradition of spiritual herbalism. In 2018, Suhaly founded Moon Mother Apothecary, a practice and offering of heart-centered, moon-powered medicines created in the traditional wisdom and knowledge of her ancestors. She has hosted plant medicine-making workshops with organizations including Gossamer, The Wing, Creative Time, Weeksville Heritage Center, The Museum of the City of New York, Ethel's Club, The Highline, and Fotografiska and currently co-leads an ongoing "Lunar Herbs" workshop series with GoldFeather. Suhaly is a proud member of United Plant Savers, Herbalists Without Borders, and Queer Healers.
