Black Flora: Revased, Revisited, and Revised

Join author and longtime gardener Teri Speight as she reflects on the journey of her latest publication, Black Flora: Inspiring Profiles of Floriculture's New Vanguard. In this seminal title, Teri establishes a tradition of Black floriculture, profiling contemporary experts innovating in the world of flowers. For each person featured, publicly sharing their story was quite meaningful, as it not only connected them with the floral legacies of the past, but also a new generation of plant-lovers seeking examples of successful Black floral artists and entrepreneurs.

In this talk, Teri will share a few revelations that have redirected the floral journey of several members of the Black Flora Team, showing the different ways flowers call to us. As she will reveal, sometimes flowers empower us, other times they broaden our interests, and other times, they simply make us dig our hands deeper into the soil and discover something new.
