Materials as Muse: The Orchid Show Edition

What is the line between art and decoration? Think beyond the confines of "pretty" and consider flowers in terms of line, gesture, texture, and form. We will examine the colors and patterns from NYBG's latest exhibition, The Orchid Show: Mexican Modernism, then create artistic interpretations in dialogue with that work. Then, unleash your creativity and design a floral arrangement inspired by a theme of your choice.
Materials Information:
Price includes a $170 materials fee for plant materials and hard goods. Please bring a florist knife, wire cutter, scissors, pruners, a camera, and a box or bag to carry home your work. Alternatively, a Floral Tool Kit is available for purchase through the Registration Office. Please email ContinuingEd@nybg.org to inquire.
