This two-day course examines the Safety Officer's role at emergency responses. A specific focus on operations within an Incident Command System (ICS) as a Safety Officer is a main theme. Response to all-hazards types of situations will be emphasized.

This two-day course provides the supervisor with the knowledge and skills to perform successfully in the fire and Emergency Medical Services environments.
May 18-19, 2026, Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical-Jayhawk Room
In this two-day class the students will learn about operational activities and safety concerns for structural Company Officers assigned to a wildland urban interface (WUI) incident, including command and control issues of WUI firefighting.
