He has served as a sniper team leader for five years and continues to lead field operations, allowing him to incorporate current tactics and operational considerations into his instruction.Cutshaw is a Snipercraft Certified Sniper Instructor, SIG Sauer Master Instructor for rifle and pistol, and certified firearms and patrol-rifle instructor. He is also an active member of the American Sniper Association. His instruction emphasizes practical, repeatable techniques aligned with contemporary law enforcement sniper standards.
