Instructor: Geri Servi

Geri Servi
Biography:
Geri Servi has been teaching ikebana since 2015. She studied with Los Angeles master Kaz Kitajima and received her teaching certification in the Sogetsu School of Ikebana from the Sogetsu Teachers' Association in Tokyo, Japan.

Her arrangements have been shown at the Portland Japanese Garden, LA County Arboretum and Botanic Gardens, Descanso Gardens, the Japanese Garden of San Fernando Valley, and the Japan-American Center in downtown LA.

She began practicing ikebana as a natural extension of the Japanese fine art and furniture business she has owned with her husband for nearly 20 years. She says what she realized though, is that the art of ikebana is not something with a beginning and an end. It becomes a lifelong passion. When she discovered that Bend had no active ikebana instructor, she decided to bring the art to the community, so she could continue her own studies while introducing ikebana to others.
