Biography:

Holly Hutton is a registered clinical herbalist in standing with the American Herbal Guild (AHG) and is also the Vice President of the AHG council.  Holly received her Clinical Herbalism certification from the East West Herb School of Planetary Herbology where she currently serves on the faculty. Holly does herbal assessments, teaches, writes, grows and sells medicinal plants and seeds, and is the owner of Herbal Goddess Medicinals, LLC, a company that specializes in herbal products and bulk herbs through Central Oregon Locavore. She is currently working on a book about native medicinal herbs in Central Oregon.

This exploratory workshop introduces participants to the world of alternative photo processes focusing on cyanotypes. Cyanotypes use the sun to create images on paper that can be toned with plants to create a host of different colors. Students will learn how to create cyanotypes with photograms and/or digital negatives and then use various plants to tone their creations.

Many cultures throughout the world utilize tonic herbs for longevity. Our body's ability to defend itself from countless diseases can be a key to enjoying a long life. This class will cover many of these herbal traditions and explore the use of herbal tonics to strengthen immunity, endurance, and longevity. In this class, we will learn about individual herbs and explore age-old formulas. A demonstration will be incorporated into the class. Students will receive recipes for easy-to-make herbal remedies.
