Volcanic eruptions have shaped the landscape of Central Oregon, making it a geologic wonder to explore. Dig into this geologic adventure with COCC Geology faculty and get to know the exciting backdrop of our area. This camp features two days in the classroom and two days in the field on trips to volcanic areas within an hour of Bend. Hands-on projects investigating aspects of volcanic eruptions are the cornerstone of the classroom, and the field trips aim to kick curiosity and experiential learning into high gear. Field trips will include hikes up to 2 miles on irregular terrain. Campers should bring lunch, water, and sun protection for those days, and wear appropriate footwear.
