Kim Young
Biography: Kim Young is a mindfulness educator and facilitator, who has taught locally in the Bend LaPine School District, internationally at the International School Bangkok, and more recently, as the Director of Mindfulness at United World College Thailand. She has completed teacher training certifications in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with Mindful Academy Solterreno (Spain), a year-long teacher program with Mindful Schools (US), and the .b Foundations course and Paws b curriculum with the Mindfulness in Schools Project (UK). Kim also brings experience and insights from Mindful Self-Compassion courses and silent meditation retreats in Thailand. She has recently completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Ananda Yoveda in Chiang Rai, Thailand. Kim is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience with others about well-being and is excited to offer this introductory series about integrating mindfulness into our busy, daily lives in ways that support health and wholeness. Kim is a kind and compassionate educator who believes that connecting with ourselves and others is a key aspect of flourishing, and of finding peace and joy.

This four-part series will share mindful ways of being that can be easily integrated into our daily lives and have a positive impact on your well-being. Learn about the science of mindfulness and its effects on the mind, body, and spirit. Experience a variety of practices, including creative drawing and painting, mindful movement, and compassionate action. Sessions will include time for learning about the most recent research, engaging in mindful practices and activities, and sharing in conversation with others. The sessions will be engaging and interactive, with opportunities to extend learning beyond the class with a variety of resources. All are welcome, more diversity leads to greater learning and new perspectives.
