Biography: Kim Young is a mindfulness educator and facilitator, who has taught locally in the Bend LaPine School District, internationally at the International School Bangkok, and more recently, as the Director of Mindfulness at United World College Thailand. She has completed teacher training certifications in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with Mindful Academy Solterreno (Spain), a year-long teacher program with Mindful Schools (US), and the .b Foundations course and Paws b curriculum with the Mindfulness in Schools Project (UK). Kim also brings experience and insights from Mindful Self-Compassion courses and silent meditation retreats in Thailand. She has recently completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Ananda Yoveda in Chiang Rai, Thailand. Kim is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience with others about well-being and is excited to offer this introductory series about integrating mindfulness into our busy, daily lives in ways that support health and wholeness. Kim is a kind and compassionate educator who believes that connecting with ourselves and others is a key aspect of flourishing, and of finding peace and joy. |

Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga focuses on stretching and strengthening the body, and promotes relaxation and mindfulness. In Sanskrit, 'hatha' means life force, or increasing one's internal vital energy. This Hatha Yoga series will include breathing practices, asanas, and short meditation practices. Offerings will build upon the experience and interest of participants. The class is open to beginners as well as experienced yogis. A typical class will include a 5-10 minute arrival practice including introduction to pranayama (breathing practices), short mindful meditation, and intention setting. Asanas (poses) will focus on sun salutations and foundational yoga postures, with modifications.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
This course is a scientifically researched program designed to introduce fundamental mindfulness and meditation training for reducing stress and bringing greater resilience, life balance, and well-being into everyday life.
The program consists of eight weekly sessions with an additional silent retreat day. It is a practical yet also intensive approach that trains attention, allowing people to develop more awareness and choices in their daily lives.
Instructor, Kim Young, is a qualified MBSR teacher and certified yoga instructor. Her training includes intensive practice with Solterreno Academy in Spain, Mindful Schools (USA), Mindfulness Thailand, Discovering Mindfulness, David Treleaven Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness, and Mindfulness in Schools Project (UK).
