There are many ways to bend nature into desired designs, but learning these techniques takes time, patience, and practice. Through hands-on experience, explore the many methods to manipulate floral materials to work in your favor-such as altering a stem's shape, which direction its head faces in an arrangement, and the overall lines and forms of a design. Prerequisite: Fundamentals of Style

Materials Information
In-person classes: Price includes a $75 materials fee for plant materials and hard goods. Please bring a florist knife, wire cutters, scissors, pruners, a camera, and a box or bag to carry your work home. A Floral Tool Kit is available for purchase through the Registration Office.

She learned to love nature at a young age from her grandmother, who was a landscape architect and taught at Notre Dame University. Barbara calls her personal design style "Urban Garden," which often showcases garden varieties in sleek urban vases. Her work can be seen at Gatherings Floral Design.
