Rose Care and Pruning

Tending to roses is an art, especially given how many types there are-from shrubs to hybrid teas to ramblers. Proper pruning can encourage bloom production and control plant disease. This informative session combines classroom demonstrations, student pruning of potted plants, and illustrations of the decorative techniques used in gardens such as Sissinghurst. We'll also cover the best soil types, when to deadhead, how to rejuvenate tired plants, and more!

Instructor:	Ann Perkowski Ann Perkowski Ann Perkowski Ann Perkowski is the founder and owner of Lady Clippers Inc., in Westchester County, NY, her business that specializes in fine hand pruning of beautiful private and public gardens throughout the metropolitan New York region. Ann travels the U.S. and Europe to study and master creative pruning techniques. Recent engagements include stays at Sissinghurst and GreatDixter in England, the Dordogne region of France and as a 2016 participant in the Munn Volunteer Program at Monet's Garden inGiverny.
