Ñawi K. Flores
Ñawi Flores (Tiksi/He/They) is an SHMS R&D and educator committed to promoting agroecosystem resiliency and sustainability. As a citizen of the Tawantinsuyu, Ñawi has pioneered transdisciplinary research that integrates soil-microbiology-plant sciences with social ecology, sociocultural, and socio-environmental sciences.

In his work, Ñawi merges Western scientific knowledge with Indigenous Knowledge Systems to inform and enhance ecosystem resilient rhythm. He has held teaching appointments at Brooklyn College, teaching geology and environmental science and biology; at Lehman College, focusing on microbiology; at Cornell Small Farms Program, instructing indoor and outdoor mushroom cultivation; and at the Regenerative Field Institute, Ecuador, consulting on syntropic agroforestry. He has led urban agriculture and urban soil health workshops at GreenThumb and GrowNYC. Through his affiliation with CUNY-Advanced Science Research Center, Plant Science Lab-Lehman College, and Community Mushroom Educators, Ñawi investigates nature-based climate solutions.

As an entrepreneur, Ñawi co-founded the Andes Agriculture Entrepreneur Initiative in Ecuador and has worked with AgriTech and Agribusiness entrepreneurs in New York. He currently leads Kinray Hub: Indigenous-led Climate Research & Resilient Development nested in the K'allam'p, living ecosystem.
