The world of floristry is embracing innovative techniques that transform leaves into woven textures, sculptural forms, and dramatic sweeping lines. In this hands-on class, explore the methods used to manipulate fresh foliage as you learn how to create a large-scale contemporary design that highlights movement, structure, and artistry. Please note that you'll work as a group to create one cohesive design.

Materials Information:
Price includes a $150 materials fee for plant materials and hard goods. Please bring a florist knife, wire cutters, scissors, pruners, a camera, and a box or bag to carry your work home. A Floral Tool Kit is available for purchase through the Registration Office.

Instructor:	Barbara Mele Barbara Mele Barbara Mele A native New Yorker, Barbara Mele has been a florist for 20+ years. She learned to love nature at a young age from her grandmother, who was a landscape architect and taught at Notre Dame University. Barbara calls her personal design style "Urban Garden," which often showcases garden varieties in sleek urban vases. Her work can be seen at Gatherings Floral Design.
