Silverpoint for Botanical Artists

The medium of silverpoint has been employed by artists for centuries, dating back to the Renaissance. Silverpoint drawings are created by "stroking" the surface of a specially prepared ground with sterling silver wire. In this class, you'll learn the basics of this historic medium-such as preparation of the substrate, tools used, and drawing techniques as you experiment with a variety of surfaces. Prerequisite: Botanical Drawing I
