Butterflies, Moths, and Pollinating Insects in Mixed Media


Explore the fascinating world of pollinating insects and their host plants. In this mixed-media course, botanical artist Mindy Lighthipe will demonstrate techniques for accurately depicting the vibrant colors and intricate patterns of butterflies, moths, other pollinators, and their host plants. You'll learn how to identify and classify the anatomy and composition of different types of pollinators using photos and optional specimens, as you compose a unique artwork. Choose to work in watercolor, colored pencil, watercolor pencils, or a combination of these media. Prerequisite: Botanical Drawing II
