Bracketology

On any walk through a woodland area, you've likely seen bracket fungi without even knowing it. These woody, often large, shelved bodies grow on tree trunks and due to their hard and durable stature, go largely ignored but hold many fascinating aspects in their biology, chemistry, and ecology. In this class, you'll be introduced to this wood-loving family of fungi-and learn how to identify the edible varieties such as Hen-of the-Woods, Chicken-of the-Woods, and other delectables.

While not required, we highly recommend taking one of our seasonal electives: Spring or Summer Mushrooms prior to this class, to learn the basics of the fungal kingdom.
