Learn to identify types of trauma and explore evidence-based trauma-informed principles and strategies to enhance positive outcomes.

Joan Basile, Ph.D.

Joan Basile, Ph.D. is a Clinical Psychologist specializing in trauma-informed therapies and is a passionate advocate for the healing power of Nature, especially for toxic stress.

She is a Certified School Psychologist, holds certificates in Gardening and Therapeutic Horticulture from NYBG, and currently manages the Chappaqua Community Garden at CVAC where she has created a therapeutic shade garden, native pollinator habitat, started the Kids' Garden Club, and is developing a program of therapeutic garden activities for the community.
