Focus on the unique ecologies of the freshwater wetlands, salt marshes, and rocky shores of the tri-state area, including the rare, threatened, and endangered species that live there. You'll also study how soils, plants, and animals are adapting to urban stressors and climate change, and how city officials are working to balance restoration and recreation while being mindful of rising sea levels. This class includes a trip to Pelham Bay Park. Prerequisite: one Native Flora class

Instructor:	Molly McCargar Molly McCargar Molly McCargar Molly McCargar is originally from California's Bay Area, and holds a Bachelors degree in Marine Science, and a Masters degree in Conservation Biology. Her experience in field biology includes extensive time living in the low-land Atlantic rainforests of Costa Rica working as the research coordinator of a biological research station north of Tortuguero. She is currently working towards her PhD in biology at Fordham University, studying population genomics green and hawksbill sea turtles.
