Michael Troy Brown is a graduate of University of Florida, with honors and a minor in Entomology. He has accumulated an extensive knowledge of tropical ornamentals, Mediterranean-climate plants, cactus, succulents, annuals and perennials over his twenty plus years of landscape and garden designs. Brown had the opportunity to study and design gardens in Costa Rica and contribute a design to San Jose's Lankester Botanical Gardens. In 2006, he relocated from South Florida to Southern California to immerse himself in the plants of the Mediterranean climate at Descanso Gardens in Los Angeles- a beautiful 150-acre oak woodland nestled at the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. He is now back in New York City where he offers garden tours as well as teaching classes at NYBG. |
