Ashley Rafalow is the Head of Policy and Training at Square Roots, an urban farming company that brings local, real food to people in cities around the world by empowering next-gen leaders in urban farming. Her work is focused on ensuring that the team operates safely and effectively, and that farmers have the training and education they need to grow fantastic food and build a successful career in indoor agriculture. Ashley has a master's in public health concentrating in nutrition and policy from the CUNY School of Public Health, and a bachelor's in advertising and marketing communications from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Prior to joining Square Roots she worked in food policy advocacy, research and action at CUNY for several years, and before that got exposure to local/regional food systems and stakeholders through GrowNYC, Just Food, Five Acre Farms, and Foodlink. |
