New Technologies for Urban Farming - ONLINE

This class will take place online. Registered students will receive login instructions.
As urban populations expand and access to arable land and potable water shrinks, agri-entrepreneurs are turning to innovative systems to grow food indoors without soil-aeroponics, aquaponics, and hydroponics. Four NYC-based experts—Yemi Amu, Founder Oko Farms; Kathleen DeBrota, Senior Manager of Research and Development Operations at AeroFarms; John Kell, Director of Communications at Square Roots; and Jol Mejia, Founder of Mi Oh My Hydroponic Farms—will explain how their systems currently produce high-quality food and discuss what these new technologies mean for agriculture, climate, and culture today. Moderated by Charles Yurgalevitch, Ph.D., Director, School of Professional Horticulture.
