As urban populations expand and access to arable land and potable water shrinks, agri-entrepreneurs are turning to innovative systems to grow food indoors without soil-aeroponics, aquaponics, and hydroponics. Three NYC-based experts—Kathleen DeBrota, Plant Scientist at AeroFarms; Maya Kutz, Greenhouse Manager at Brooklyn Grange; and Sarah Ann Horton, Farm Manager of Square Roots—will explain how their systems currently produce high-quality food and discuss what these new technologies mean for agriculture, climate, and culture today.
