Sculptural Headpieces: Orchids

Joshua Werber's playful headpieces are certain to delight, as his many followers on Instagram readily attest. In this special workshop, Joshua will discuss how to use botanical materials from The Orchid Show to design headpieces that showcase these special blooms. Learn the basic mechanics needed to create unique forms, while experimenting with making a bold statement of your own.

Materials Information:
Price includes a $75 materials fee for plant materials and hard goods. Please bring a florist knife, wire cutter, scissors, pruners, a camera, and a box or bag to carry your work home. Alternatively, a Floral Tool Kit is available for purchase through the Registration Office. Please email ContinuingEd@nybg.org to inquire.

Drawing from the natural world, Joshua Werber's work is an exploration of emotion through the act of creation. Josh's lush aesthetic and sculptural approach to flowers playfully ornament and engage with the interior orexterior landscape. Designing provides him with the opportunity to intuitively trust, feel, and to allow the material to guide its own creation. His work is driven by a desire to create unique environments through whichthe participant can experience transformation. He currently lives in Brooklyn with his rescue puppy Delilah.
