Landscape Measurement

Precise field measurement is the crucial first step in landscape design. This course includes a two-part project. First, learn to create a site plan using tape measures, baseline, and offset measurement techniques. Next, use builders' levels to collect spot elevations across the site, converting them to contours to incorporate elevation into the site plan and complete the project. Students will have mapped a 7,000 square foot site and produced a completed topographic drawing to scale. Dress for the weather.
