Paula's special interest is the intersection of cultural imperatives and social change as seen in the designed landscape. She earned an advanced diploma in history at Oxford University and holds a Master's Degree in Garden and Landscape History from the University of London. She has traveled extensively to visit and study gardens in the United States, Asia, and Europe.
