Botanizing at NYBG

Have you heard? Botanizing is the new birding! Join Let's BotanizeŽ co-founders, Ben Goulet-Scott, Ph.D., and Jacob S. Suissa, Ph.D. for a botanizing walk through NYBG. Through their non-profit work and new book, Let's Botanize! 101 Ways to Connect with Plants, Jacob and Ben aim to make the study and understanding of plants accessible to everyone through engaging social learning experiences.

Through classroom discussion and guided exploration across garden grounds, you will practice careful observation of plants and review plant stories including their morphology, taxonomy, physiology, ecology, and evolution.

Whether you're brand new to world of flora or a plant expert, this workshop will inspire you to view botanizing as an activity that can ease stress, bring joy, and deepen your connection to the diversity of our environment—and add it to your list of favorite hobbies (if it isn't already!)
