Trace back through history to examine how people have utilized gardens to not only provide sustenance, beauty, and refreshment, but also to give shape and meaning to their social lives. Garden typologies will include herbal and botanic gardens, community and allotment gardens, therapeutic gardens, and vernacular gardens.

She earned an advanced diploma in history at Oxford University and holds a Master's Degree in Garden and Landscape History from the University of London. She has published on women and gardens and has traveled extensively to visit and study gardens in the United States, Asia, and Europe.
