Wild Wisdom: Essential Wilderness Skills

Long before maps, GPS, and modern survival gear, humans relied on their senses to understand and respond to the landscape. Develop essential wilderness awareness and survival skills through sensory exercises, plant observation, and discussion. You'll learn to assess priorities in emergencies, navigate using natural landmarks, interpret environmental cues, and recognize signs of changing weather and seasons.

Explore wild plants traditionally used for food, first aid, cordage, and other practical needs, and gain insight into assembling a simple survival kit. Grounded in traditional ecological knowledge and foraging practices, this course emphasizes the importance of observing, adapting to, and working with the landscape.
