This comprehensive, hands-on training is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to accurately collect, process, and submit biometric identification records in accordance with state and federal standards. Instruction will cover proper techniques for capturing and submitting ten-print arrest and booking fingerprint records, palm prints, and digital mug shots, as well as the effective operation and troubleshooting of Livescan fingerprinting systems.
Participants will also receive guidance on civil fingerprinting procedures, including the use of the Kansas Criminal History Access Tool (KCHAT), and will learn how to utilize two-finger capture devices for identity verification and record searches. Additional topics include identifying and correcting common submission errors, understanding Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) responses and reports, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of biometric data submissions.
Throughout the course, students will participate in practical exercises and hands-on fingerprinting scenarios designed to reinforce proper fingerprint capture techniques, improve image quality, and increase confidence in processing both criminal justice and civil fingerprint transactions. Upon completion, attendees will have a better understanding of fingerprint identification processes and the skills necessary to produce accurate, reliable submissions that meet established standards.

Who Should Attend:
- Anyone who takes ten-print and palm print images for the submission of an arrest or applicant fingerprint card via livescan or hard card. This includes court personnel who fingerprint those who have been convicted from the result of a summons.

The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred On-Campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Non-Campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the institution or a recognized student organization; and on Public Property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years.
