Brianna England
Biography:
Soprano Brianna England is a recent graduate of Bowling Green State University, where she studied with Myra Merritt-Grant, and earned her master's degree in Vocal Performance with a specialization in Voice Science and Pedagogy.   
Brianna is member of the voice faculty in the School of Music at Purdue Fort Wayne, where she completed her bachelor's degree in voice performance in 2018.  She currently teaches applied lessons, Voice Class, and co-directs the Opera Ensemble. During her tenure as a student at PFW, Brianna was a winner of the 2017 concerto/aria competition, awarded the honor of outstanding student in music performance, and a recipient of the university's prestigious Top 50 award.  Brianna placed 2nd in the 2020 National Association of Teachers of Singing great lakes regional competition among graduate men and women and received third place in the 2021 graduate division of the Marjorie Conrad Art Song competition held at BGSU.   
Ms. England has been a featured soloist with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic and Haymarket Opera in their summer 2017 young artist program.  Included among Brianna's favorite operatic roles are: Suor Angelica in Puccini's Suor Angelica, Rosalinda in Johann Strauss's Die Fledermaus, Juliette in Gounod's Romeo et Juliette, and Pamina in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte.   In the summer of 2012, Ms. England traveled to Rome, Italy and sang as a young artist with Operafestival di Roma.  Through February and March of 2021, Ms. England directed and costumed the original micro-opera film "Visionary" composed by Steven Naylor, for which Brianna also sang the role of Hildegard von Bingen.
