Introduction to Photography

Learn how to take better photos, regardless of the type of camera. Topics such as composition, lighting, and exposure will be discussed in order to gain a better understanding of photography.

Interior Design Basics - NEW!

Our all-new course will provide an introduction to the fundamental principles and elements of interior design. Students will explore the creative and technical aspects of interior design, gaining the basic concepts necessary to create functional and aesthetically pleasing interior space. Throughout the course, students will learn about color theory, lighting design, furniture selection, material selection, and decorative elements. Emphasis will be placed on understanding how these elements work together to create cohesive and harmonious interiors.

Ceramics: Soda-Fired Pottery

This class will focus on making various pottery forms intended to be fired in the soda kiln. Participants will learn to how to glaze and prepare pottery for soda firings, as well as learn how to load and fire the kiln.

Ceramics: Glaze Testing and Pottery Making

The focus will be on testing ceramic glazes that will be used to finish the pottery that you make during the class. The basic components of a ceramic glaze will be discussed and how they respond to material substitutions and firing atmospheres.

Ceramics: Bowls

This class will focus on making a variety of functional bowls intended to be used for serving and eating food. Participants will learn to throw, trim, decorate and glaze the pottery made during the class and have the chance to practice what they learn.

Ceramics: Vases - Thrown and Combined Forms

This class will focus on the technique of making large vases by combining multiple wheel-thrown parts. Participants will have the opportunity to make, glaze, and finish vases as well as make other pottery forms during open lab times.

Ceramics: Pitchers - NEW!

Learning to throw pitcher forms will be the focus of this class. Demonstrations will include making slab-built and pulled spouts as well as handles. Participants will have the opportunity to practice these new skills and make their own pitchers to glaze fire to completion.

Ceramics: Wood and Soda Firing

This class will focus on making various pottery forms intended to be fired in our NEW hybrid wood/soda kiln as well as other kilns. Participants will learn how to glaze and prepare pottery for wood/soda firings, as well as learn how to load and fire the kiln.

Ceramics: Pottery Decorating Techniques

Learning to decorate pottery in new and innovative ways will be the focus of this class. Decorating techniques such as stamping, texturizing, piercing, and others will be demonstrated. Participants will have an opportunity to make pottery forms, try out new decorating techniques, and glaze fire their work to completion.
