This introduction to the German language and culture is great for anyone interested in learning vocabulary and grammar to begin communicating with German speakers.

Prerequisite: German: Beginner or basic knowledge of German is recommended. This course will focus on introducing topics of grammar and encouraging students to learn vocabulary and build sentences. In addition, cultural components will be discussed while practicing conversation and reading skills.

Prerequisite: German: Intermediate or intermediate knowledge of German is recommended. This course will focus on the use of language by encouraging students to learn vocabulary and build complex sentences. In addition, students will have the opportunity to practice conversation and reading skills.


November 17, 2020 to December 15, 2020, Online Course
Classroom activities and conversations will have you communicating comfortably in French in no time. You will learn about the history and culture of French-speaking peoples and interact directly with native speakers.

This course will focus on listening more attentively, speaking more confidently and communicating more clearly in Italian, improving all aspects of oral communication. Students will work on pronunciation, vocabulary and idioms to further develop their conversational skills. They will also receive individualized feedback on grammar and pronunciation.

This course concentrates on conversational Spanish, pronunciation, and correct grammar for effective communication. The course is taught in an interactive style and includes an overview of Hispanic cultures.

This class will focus on the new beginning learner to the Japanese language and culture. Classes will include reading and writing Hiragana/Katakana letters, mastering simple useful phrases and learning about Japanese culture.

The Beginner I course is designed to introduce students to the everyday language of Japan. Lessons will be organized around natural conversational topics, leading students from fundamental aspects of grammar to readings in simple texts along with basic writing.

Prerequisite: Must have completed Japanese Conversation: Beginner I. Must have studied the Japanese language more than one year. A focus of this course will be to develop Japanese language proficiency and knowledge through grammatical and practical learning and activities in order to be able to carry on basic conversations with Japanese native speakers.

Prerequisite: Japanese Conversation: Beginner II or equivalent knowledge. The focus of this course will be to further advance students' knowledge of advanced vocabulary and grammar. Practice of applied usages of grammar learned in Beginner I and II will give students mastery of basic communication in Japanese.
