Instructor: Ralph Kidder

No image available Biography: Dr. Ralph D. Kidder served as vice president for Financial Affairs and Treasurer at Marymount University until his retirement in 2014. He was responsible for managing the university's $75 million annual budget and supervised the business and accounting functions, human resources management, physical plant, transportation and auxiliary services departments. Since his retirement, Dr. Kidder has served as a University Supervisor in the Teacher Education program at Marymount. He is a member of the Leadership Arlington Class of 2008 and served on the Board of Directors of The Reading Connection in Arlington, Virginia and IncSpire, a business incubator in Reston, Virginia.Dr. Kidder holds an Ed. D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Massachusetts Boston; an M.B.A. in Public Management from Boston University; an M.A. in Teaching (History and Education) from Duquesne University; and a B.A. in History from Lehigh University. Active in professional organizations, Dr. Kidder has served as Treasurer of the History of Education Society and as Budget Chairman of the Association for the Study of Higher Education. Dr. Kidder currently volunteers as a videoconference docent for the Smithsonian American Art Museum's Artful Connections program in Washington DC. He has worked with elementary and secondary school students across the United States, with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute based at universities and colleges throughout the country and with a variety of adult and senior citizen programs.
