Course detail: Advanced Critical Incident Stress Debrief

FRST Midwest is a statewide non-profit organization that provides educational programs to promote the healthy development following stress and critical incidents experienced by first responders and their families including collaboration with culturally competent mental health professionals.

FRST and the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office are partnering to offer a one-day advanced training for any peer support team members who have led CISD's (Critical Incident Stress Debriefings) or are interested in leading in the future.

FRST is working to create a list of peer support members who are comfortable, able, and willing to lead debriefs. This training session will be to ensure consistency in how to lead a CISD, what information is covered in the debriefs, and to answer any questions/concerns.

FRST is working towards ensuring all debriefs are conducted according to our training and to eliminate liability concerns.

The only requirement is previous attendance of a basic peer support or CISM training. It DOES NOT have to be the FRST Midwest 40-hour basic training.
