Course detail: Acute Stress Mitigation

This course is designed to introduce detention recruits to the foundational concepts of stress and resilience. Participants will gain an understanding of how stress affects the body and mind, as well as the role resilience plays in overall mental wellness and job performance. 

The course includes practical instruction and guided practice in a variety of mindfulness techniques aimed at regulating the nervous system, promoting emotional regulation, and enhancing stress management skills in a high-demand environment. 

At the conclusion of this course, students will: 
1. Explain the concepts of stress and resilience, including their impact on physical and mental health, using terminology provided during instruction, 

2. Demonstrate least two mindfulness techniques to regulate the nervous system in response to stress-inducing scenarios.
