Course detail: Administering Naloxone

First responders are on the front line of the opioid epidemic and may unknowingly come into contact with opioids. 
This class, funded in part by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, provides guidance on administering Naloxone for those who may be exposed to synthetic opioids when responding to medical calls, crime scenes, or during drug raids.



Core Competencies 
  • Participants will exhibit an understanding of Naloxone, recognize the symptoms of an overdose, and select from a list of examples of opioids and symptoms of opioid use,
  • Participants will exhibit an understanding of how to administer Naloxone to someone undergoing a drug overdoes.
