Course detail: Kansas Police Administrators' Seminar

The Kansas Police Administrators' Seminar (KPAS) is designed for new chiefs, department administrators and supervisors who are preparing themselves for a chief or other upper-level police administrative positions. KPAS provides instruction in the "basics" of managing a police department and its employees, with real-world problems and decision-making that a chief of police confronts daily.

This 5-day, in-person program offers curriculum in 2-4 hour modules on a variety of topics plus one evening networking dinner. Established in 2001, KPAS has graduated over 500 leaders and remains popular among rural agencies. You'll gain real-world insights through panel discussions and department-specific scenarios - no outside work or final assignment required - and celebrate your achievement at a formal graduation ceremony.

KPAS Topic List
  • Strategic Planning and Resource Allocation
  • Contemporary Legal Issues
  • Managing Organizational Change
  • Hiring Processes/Best Practices
  • Chief's Panel Q & A
  • And much more . . .
