Course detail: Elevating Today's Law Enforcement Leaders: A Workshop in Skills Development

Course Description:

Often when we take over leadership roles we simply mimic what we have seen in the past. But how many meetings have you sat through and thought that should have been an email? We will explore skills that we are not normally trained in and that we normally just end up acquiring from experience (much to our detriment).

Participants will learn how to effectively manage their to-do list, time, and inbox, how to lead meetings, use time multipliers, lead projects, delegate, conduct process reviews and other skills needed to lead others.

Core Competencies:
  • Participants will appraise and adopt the duties and behaviors incumbent upon a law enforcement leader who acts in ways that support the needs of their organization, community and profession.
  • Participants will exhibit fairness in policing while giving people a voice and performing law enforcement duties with impartiality and the necessary level of transparency to sustain and strengthen public trust.
Instructional Methods:
  • Interactive Lecture - Applied Learning Exercises
Who Should Attend:
  • All law enforcement but aimed toward supervisors
Course Requirements:
  • 100% Attendance and Participation
