Course detail: Rope Rescue 2 Training

Rope Rescue 2 is a five-day (40 hours) certification course is designed to meet the NFPA Standard 1006 on Rope Rescue Technician Level 2. It refreshes the types and uses of ropes/knots, equipment, and anchor systems skills. It then includes victim movement on a rope, litter tender operations, high lines, and ascending/descending on a natural or manufactured structure. The program will consist of classroom and hands-on application of skills on a planned building or tower involving strenuous physical activity and the ability of the student to work at heights.

Prerequisites:
Introduction to Technical Rescue - NFPA 2013 (Chapter 5)
Certified Emergency Medical Responder or higher
Rope Rescue 1

Certification Requirements:
Must have a Rope Rescue 1 certification to obtain national certification.

Additional Info:
Personal protective equipment is to be furnished by the student. It includes an OSHA or ANSI-approved helmet with chin strap (fire helmets OK), clean leather work gloves (firefighting gloves are not appropriate), durable work clothes (no tank tops or shorts), duty boots, or athletic shoes.
