Begin your rise to the top of the charts with digital music production! Just like today's top artists, you can design your own beats or remix a mashup of your favorite songs to become a digital composer and sound engineer. In this course, students will learn to produce digital music, record sound, make sound effects, and mix their own tracks. No prior music experience is necessary. Student-created soundtracks will be available on a password protected website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. Ages 10-15.

Awaken your child's creative expression with Photography! This is a hands-on photography camp for kids taught by professional photographer Steve Giardini. Students will learn how to use a digital camera and spend time each day taking photographs. Breakfast and brunch are near and dear to Chef Dom's culinary heart. Bonkers for Breakfast will teach students to prepare classics like eggs benedict and french toast, as well as otherwordly offerings like Thai donuts and sticky buns. Up your cookie making game with this Chef-led camp that emphasizes great techniques in the kitchen, in addition to fabulous recipes. The cookies made in this class include Snickerdoodle, Icebox, Lindsor, and your traditional sugar cookie, but with a twist. Learning advanced decorating skills will be the icing on top of this interactive camp. Ages 10-15.

With the world's increased reliance on digital data, cyber security is more important than ever! In this class you are all that stands between a group of international hackers launching cyber attacks and world peace. Through a series of challenges students will learn to apply tools used by professional digital forensics teams to crack codes and use encryption. Working in teams you will have to collect clues, recover lost data, and explore the tools of the trade to become the next great cyber spy! Ages 10-15.

Play the roles of judge, defendant, plaintiff, witness, lawyer, bailiff, or juror in several mock trials. Learn how to make opening and closing statements, how to phrase objections, and how to question witnesses. Pull all your skills together at the end of the week as you participate in a final mock trial based on cases from past national and state level Mock Trial competitions. Ages 10-15.

Learn the elements of art and how to create abstract expressions with them! In this hands-on camp, students will be introduced to the ELEMENTS of ART: line, shape, form, texture, color and value by drawing with markers and colored pencils. Students will learn expression artwork as a framework for expressing their ideas, themselves, and their emotions. Each student's artwork will be as unique as they are! This class is designed for non-artists and artists alike, and no artistic skill is required. Taught by COCC Art Professor, Natasha Bacca. In this camp, students will experience the exciting field of Manga drawing, an immersive storytelling style made popular in Japanese comics. Students will learn the basics of illustration in the Manga style, and will have time to practice sketching people, facial features, hair, clothing, gesture, and facial expressions, as well as learning inking, and color techniques. Principles of drawing and using Copic markers will be utilized. At the end of the camp, students will have created their own Manga character! No drawing experience necessary to join the fun! For students aged 10-15.

Become one of the 400,000 students around the world in Model United Nations! Assume the role of an ambassador and represent your country to solve current world issues. Throughout the week students will research a world problem, develop solutions, and negotiate consensus with their peers. This program teaches teens and tweens core skills such as research, writing, public speaking, problem solving, and conflict resolution. Model UN alumni have gone on to become supreme court justices, world leaders, lawyers, and business professionals. No prior experience is needed. *This course requires access to computers with internet to complete debate research. Ages 10-15.

NW Cyber Camp is designed to teach high school students about cybersecurity concepts and technologies, ethics, and career opportunities in the field. There are no pre-requisites for this camp, other than general experience with computers and a real interest in learning about cybersecurity. Additionally, students with prior computer technical experience will have an opportunity to explore advanced topics & challenges, providing learning opportunities for students of every skill level.

This Safe SitterŪ program prepares students to be safe when they are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Students will learn first aid, choking infant/child rescue, and infant/child CPR, in addition to how to deal with other potential dangers. The course teaches CPR but does not certify students in CPR. For 6th - 9th grade students.

Stop motion animation brings static objects to life on screen with an iPad and a variety of mixed media arts. The attitude of the Stop Motion Animation Art Youth Camp: if you can dream it, you can do it! Animation campers will explore story planning, set design, character development, and prop-making using paper, clay, drawings, and other materials with COCC art instructor, Carolyn Parker. Students will add cool themes, titles, sound effects, and special effects give the movies a unique touch and feel. Campers will apply their new knowledge to craft their own stories and create an animated scene as their project. Each student must bring their own iPad with the Stop Motion Studio Pro app already downloaded ($5.99). Ages 10-15.
