Course detail: Firefighter I - NFPA 2024 Online Portion Part 1

This course prepares you to perform the duties of the Firefighter 1 job performance requirements competently. These job performance requirements are consistent with those listed in Chapter 6.1 of NFPA 1010, 2024 edition, Standard on Professional Qualifications for Firefighters.

At the conclusion of this course, you will have learned numerous firefighter skills, such as force entry through various doors and windows, attack a passenger vehicle fire, conduct search and rescue operations as a team, attack interior building fires as part of a team, and many more skills.

This course is presented Online. This material covers firefighter 1 skills as presented in NFPA 1010.

Hazmat Awareness and Operations are prerequisites to this class. This course is available from Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute at no cost to the Kansas fire service members. Certification testing is separate from the course.

The text for this course is IFSTA Essentials of Firefighting 8th Edition, Firefighter1. Text is furnished by the student.
