Composer and critic Robert Schumann and his wife Clara, a composer and renowned pianist in her own right, befriended and vigorously mentored the young aspiring Johannes Brahms. Amid Robert's later insanity and institutionalization, Brahms stayed with and became devoted to Clara and after Robert's death, they remained close friends and colleagues for the rest of their lives. This class will feature a representative sample of piano works written by all three composers.
