Course Detail: IOPZIMMERMAN - Steve Zimmerman - Building Competencies for Sustainability
In our ever-changing environment, nonprofit leaders often search for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow known as "sustainability." But sustainability lies not at some far-off destination. Rather, it occurs when organizations engage others in make ongoing strategic decisions to guide toward exceptional impact and financial viability. Pursuing sustainability is not a one-time thing, not a senior management thing nor a board of directors thing. It's a mindset and way of organizational being. Based on the best-selling book Nonprofit Sustainability: Making Strategic Decisions for Financial Viability, author Steve Zimmerman will review key competencies involved in leading nonprofits sustainably and discuss approaches to strengthening nonprofit business models. Attendees will receive a copy of Zimmerman's book, Nonprofit Sustainability. A panel discussion addressing Richmond-area nonprofits will follow the keynote address. Panelists will include Zimmerman, Robert Bolling, CEO of Childsavers, and more.
